Wilkinson-McKenzie International Research Grant in Humanities
Applications are invited from scholars of all nationalities and ages for two post-doctoral grants of up to £500 each and one £500 grant to a PhD graduate to assist academic projects in any area of ancient history and archaeology broadly conceived but particularly pertaining to the Mediterranean or Middle East.

- Application form
- A brief CV (three pages)
- A brief outline of your project (1500 words)
- Budget statement and the intended use of the funds
- One letter of reference sent directly by the supervisor
- List of provided documents
Deadline: 31 October, 2026
Candidates will be informed of the outcome by 30 November, 2026.
Previous winners may not re-apply.
Grant should be used within ten months of the award and the report must be emailed before 30 September, 2027.

The use of Grant
The Wilkinson- McKenzie International Research Grant offered to PhD students and researchers worldwide is set to fund travel, field research, conference registration, library charges, purchase of the specialised equipment, costs towards publication and many more expenses directly related to the proposed project.
Preference will be given to co-funded projects.
Research must be within the WMIRG’s remit of Humanities, which includes but is not limited to Bible studies, archaeology, history, art, culture.
